A*STAR Mass Spectrometry Cluster

Advancing science through leveraging mass spec capabilities across BMRC – in Research, Collaboration, Industry Partnership and Services.

Background

The A*STAR Mass Spectrometry Cluster brings together a wealth of mass spec capabilities from across the Biomedical Research Council of A*STAR. Through the coordination of 30 high-end instruments across 7 existing well-established mass spec platforms, spanning 4 Research Institutes, the cluster ensures that scientists needs are met whilst ensures efficiency in spending, reduces unnecessary duplication and maximises utilisation of valuable resources. Capabilities include mass spec capabilities optimised for a comprehensive range of applications within proteomics (functional and expression), biomanufacturing (biopharma and analytics) and small molecules (including food science, pharma, bioprocess and human health).

The cluster’s team of dedicated expert staff are able consult, train, support and offer high-quality service to scientists via a range of access models (including self-use, service and collaborative projects). The cluster is supported by the Research Support Centre (RSC) for front office (e.g. marketing, enquiry handling) and back-office functions (e.g. invoicing, reporting) to ensure a professional service.
